The World’s Hatred
After Jesus had gone through the lands, teaching people, healing people, giving sight to the blind, and raising Lazarus from the dead, all to bring glory to God and to bring people to God… At one point when Jesus was at the temple and the non-believing Jews surrounded Jesus and were going to stone Him:
‘Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”‘ (John 10:31-32)
So, as people in our time know about Jesus, know about His good works and but they still deny Him… they are also ‘stoning’ Him… so, for which of His good works do they stone Him?
Here’s what Jesus also said:
“If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause*.”‘ (John 15:22-25) (*Psalm 69:4)
